StatementToday, my practice includes internal imagery discovered through a gestural process. The imagery taps into feelings, thoughts, and memories, which become subjects for my paintings. The compositions are dense and dynamic, filled with surfaces brimming with shapes, lines, and color relationships. The interplay of push and pull between positive and negative spaces evokes the tensions of everyday life within a compressed, intentional space. Bringing my daily meditation practice into my studio practice allows for sensitivity to materials, allowing for imagery to emerge.
